Hot Fridays Kicks Off this week along with the 2nd Yaletown Block Party of the summer!
Heineken Hot Fridays kicks off this week (Friday June 27th) in the 1000 block of Mainland near Section 3 from 5 - 7 pm. Catch the sounds of Dj Johnny D'erico and look forward to the next 8 weeks of great Hot Fridays music in Yaletown. Also happening on Friday June 27th is Yaletown's 2nd Block Party in the summer schedule hosted by the businesses in the 1000 block of Mainland and the 1000 and 1100 block(s) of Hamilton. Great sidewalk sales, beer gardens, free samples, bbqs and more.And again on Saturday June 28th, the party continues with another Block Party hosted by the businesses of 1000 and 1100 block Hamilton. Sidewalk sales, live music, demonstrations, balloons and more. And don't miss the Official Opening of Yaletown Park at 11am with live entertainment, games and the community policing group. |
June 21 Block Party Debrief
This past Saturday on June 21st, the merchants of the 1100 of Mainland kicked off the summer with a Family Fun Day. Free games, bouncy castle, prizes and airbrush tattoos combined with wine and grape juice tasting made for a fun day. The Yaletown Brew Pub's 'hula girls' brought the 'aloha spirit' to the party, while Chocoatl's new gelato flavours kept everyone smiling. The YBIA Clean Team and Ambassadors kept the area looking its best, and gave a helping hand whenever needed. Participating merchants included Mini Yaletown, Chocoatl, Taylorwood Wines, Starbucks, Bambu Salon, Design House and Yaletown Brew Pub. Congratulations to Chris and the team at Mini Yaletown for being such a great partner on this event. Next year, lets arrange for warmer weather!!
