Yaletown is a very talented little neighbourhood
that has gone through many phases such as, an industrial era in the 1890’s, and
stayed that way for many years. Following that, it also saw itself through a garment
era in the 1960’s and a short dot.com phase in the 1990’s. Please see
History for more details.
Yaletown has transformed into a trendy urban community
comprising a dense mixture of residential, business, office, restaurants, boutiques,
cafes and services, which makes it one of the most sought after areas to live, work,
and play.
This dynamic neighbourhood is now home to one
of Vancouver's most stylish and contemporary boutique hotels, Opus Hotel, and some of the most amazing
and creative retails shops such as, Fine Finds and Lola Home and Apparel. Let’s not forget the
sparkling array of five star restaurants like, Blue Water Café and
Glowbal Grill Satay Bar.
Not only is Yaletown one of the most spectacular places
to sip and dine, but it was also reported by Good Morning America in 2006 as one
the five best places in the world to retire, because of its close proximity to the
ocean and a downtown urban lifestyle. For a complete list of businesses and services
please see Visitors.
